Overview

This role was created to assist in the execution of the day to day sales tasks relating to Ultima’s Modern Data Centre practice.  The primary function of the role is to optimise the sales process between vendors, customers and Ultima staff  

The role exists due to the complexity of the way in which data centre infrastructure and cloud solutions need to be positioned and presented to our customer. Assistance to the sales team is needed for licensing, commercial pricing models and product queries.

The role would normally be internally based within the Reading and London site to service the sales team (Internal and External) with the focused support across all Ultima’s infrastructure solutions and services. Due to the current COVID-19 situation this will initially be a homeworking position with potential flexibility in future dependant on wider circumstances.

The role will be measured quarterly against an agreed target of a strategic vendors across the data centre and Cloud.

They will be expected to support as part of the Product Specialist division help drive and achieve the all up Modern Data Centre target revenue number.

Responsibilities

  • Understand key vendor contacts, messaging and sales operations across the chosen technology vendors
  • Assist in creating an accurate and up to date sales pipeline and reporting of opportunities to the chosen vendors through the Vendor Alliance Manager / Solution Sales Specialist.
  • Work closely with the Professional Services team on a regular basis to ensure all aspects of customer engagements are fulfilled successfully.
  • Understand which product and service opportunities best meet the customer needs. They are required to work with solution specialists, pre-sales consultants and the sales team to ensure requirements are met.
  • Will work to proactively fulfil sales queries and requests using contacts within major distributors and key vendors.
  • Responsible for accurate pricing and sizing the chosen solution and work with the sales team to ensure the most optimal specification is chosen
  • Responsible for working with the end user account management teams within the chosen vendors to allow Ultima to differentiate ourselves from the competition.
  • Assist with training and education of sales teams to ensure that you are not the port of call for every situation. By building their confidence the Sales team will be more comfortable and credible discussing this area with customers and will subsequently be more effective at generating opportunities.

Assist in gaining sales focused vendor accreditations.
