We're pleased to share with you the Ultima Partner Pulse, bringing together the latest updates from some of the key partners we work with.

If you have queries on any of the below or would like to discuss anything further, please contact your Account Manager or enquiries@ultima.com

Citrix
As the only Platinum Plus partner in the UK, we’ve recently been invited onto Citrix’s exclusive SD-WAN ‘Big Bet’ programme. As well as giving us access to the best possible pricing, this also gives us priority access to a plethora of additional resources within Citrix to help support our customers' requirements. Do you have SD-WAN on the roadmap? Please get in touch for an agnostic, no obligation discussion around how we can help.

HPE
HPE’s flagship Discover conference took place this week and unsurprisingly the main topic of discussion was GreenLake, their ‘as-a-service’ consumption based offering. Described as their “North Star” by CEO Antonio Neri, HPE unveiled a number of new innovations including the launch of workload management tool Lighthouse, Project Aurora to provide edge-to-cloud security and the launch of its Compute Cloud Console to offer "unified compute operations as-a-service". On top of this, HPE confirmed GreenLake will now include support for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI and Microsoft SQL Server, something which was music to our ears as a 13X Microsoft Gold partner. More detail to follow in our blog soon!

Check Point
In partnership with Check Point we’re currently offering free Cloud Security Posture Assessments to all new and existing customers. This assessment is non-invasive to your environments and will provide a detailed look at how secure your business is while operating your workloads across cloud platforms. Contact us today to get started.

Cisco
As part of our role as a value-added partner, we’re currently offering no-obligation FOC Cisco estate reviews to all eligible customers. This will enable us to understand your business objectives and existing Cisco investments, and then align these with Cisco's technology roadmap and future innovations. Please get in touch to discuss this further.

Microsoft
Azure Virtual Desktop: the flexible cloud VDI platform for the hybrid workplace. As Microsoft continue to help organisations meet the evolving needs of a hybrid workforce, they are expanding their vision to become a flexible cloud VDI platform for nearly any use case, accessible from virtually anywhere.

A modern VDI platform needs to be secure, scalable, and easy to manage, while delivering a seamless, high-performance experience to end users. It should also empower organisations with the flexibility to customise and build solutions with its core technology.

To support this, they are announcing new capabilities, new pricing for app streaming, and changing the name of the Windows Virtual Desktop service to Azure Virtual Desktop. Find more information in the latest Azure blog here.

Dell EMC
It’ll be no surprise to anyone that Apex (Dell’s ‘as-a-service’ offering) was flavour of the month at this year's Dell Technology World. Whilst some key details are still being clarified, it’s fair to say that this will be here to stay in line with other key players in the data centre arena (HPE GreenLake, Cisco Plus etc.). As a company with expertise in both the data centre and cloud worlds we understand there are pros and cons to each operating model- please let us know if you’d like a no-obligation discussion around how to find the right mix for your business.

HP Inc
Whilst the ongoing component constraints remain challenging, we still have a limited number of devices available in our comprehensive distribution network. Please speak to your Account Manager to understand if any of these may be suitable for urgent requirements.

Sustainability has never been higher on the agenda and we at Ultima are well aware of the need to play our part. As part of this we’ve signed up to the HP Amplify Impact Catalyst Pledge, focused on driving towards net zero carbon omissions through the effective use and re-use of resources as well as eliminating the digital divide that prevents many from accessing the services they need to thrive. HP have made it their mission to “Make HP the world’s most sustainable and just technology company” by 2030 and we’re going on this journey with them- read more here.

VMware
There’s a lot going on at VMware, including their sell-off by Dell and a new CEO, but the core mission remains the same – to enable the delivery of any application on any device on any cloud. As part of this they’re currently offering a range of compelling discounts on key areas of their technology, including the below:

vSphere with Tanzu is the fastest way to get started with Kubernetes workloads on existing infrastructure and modernise workloads now running on vSphere. It allows you to deploy developer-ready infrastructure, align DevOps & IT teams, and simplify operations. For a limited time, VMware are offering Tanzu Basic for 50% off license list price.

VMware are also currently offering up to 50% off unified operations management with the Standard edition of vRealize Suite or vCloud Suite, including upgrades from vRealize Operations and vSphere.
